First Class to Front Row

For Donna Cherry, founder and CEO of Fly First, a luxury travel company, Gatsby-esque glitz and glamour dominate her personal style, making her stand out in a sea of traditional black and navy suits. Beginning at a young age, Donna has always valued fine quality. After earning a degree in international diplomatic relations and relocating to the United States, Donna was able to explore her love of travel, exposing her to a world of style and design.
For a high-profile CEO, maintaining a unique personal style is important for creating a presence in the industry. For Donna, silk evening gowns, sparkling embellishments and pops of color give this Russian beauty the competitive edge required in a cut-throat business world. While Donna does not follow the “less is more” mentality, she always keeps it classy and feminine by appropriately combining bright colors and textures. And, even though she must uphold a professional image for her business, she says there is nothing better than a cheerful dress to brighten up the workplace.
The MDPR team met up with Donna at SARCA, one of our favorite boutiques in Chicago, to talk about the importance of creating a personal style that is adaptable to different occasions. Here are her favorite looks.

Look 2

“This look is my all-time favorite. A little black dress is a must-have for any girl. Black lace is the
winner for dinner time. It’s best to wear this dress with cool, deep colored shoes, like blue, green, deep red or purple. And, the open back with lace looks gorgeous and provocative.”

Alexis Venela black lace dress with beaded sleeves $525

Meghna green jeweled gold cuff $255

Lele Sadoughi turquoise papyrus earrings $135

Ivy Kirzhner royal blue suede heels $297

Look 4

"This printed skirt is ideal for spring and summer. It’s better to wear a simple top, like the sky-blue peplum, therefore the skirt can act as the centerpiece. High-waisted skirts are on trend. They allow you to show your figure but not look too overdressed. And, the shoes add some length to the legs.”

White Suede blue sculpture top $335

White Suede mirror floral neoprene angular skirt $340

Lele Sadoughi column bracelet $195

Tuleste Market silver petal necklace $195

Suecomma Bonnie blush leather strappy heels $219
